A typical American Christian says:
- I know the tribulation is right around the corner because our president just might be the antichrist!
- It won’t be long before he gets Israel to sign a peace treaty!
- Oh, and don’t take the RFID chip – it’s the mark of the beast!
- And oh, all the chaos in America just goes to show we’re Babylon!
Wrong. Wrong. All wrong.
I’ll tell you what, if I wanted to be popular on YouTube and have thousands of subscribers, all I’d have to do is show Biblical ‘proof’ for the above ideas, then wham, I’m an instant hit!
But since I don’t believe they’re true, I guess I’ll just remain unpopular. So be it.
Here’s my Tribulation thoughts.
Our view of end time events is skewed because we’re way too self-focused. We can’t see outside of America and outside of the Church Age we live in. For just a moment, let’s stop taking selfies and put on the panoramic lens!
The Bible spans all of human history, from creation to the close of the Millennium. Eternity to eternity. I believe that’s about 6000 years so far. America has been here for about 200 years. Two hundred. We’ve been in the Church Age for about 2000 years. One, (America) isn’t even a blip on the radar. The other, (CA) must close out before the tribulation can start. I’ve shown that over and over on this site. I won’t go into it here.
I believe if you want to get a better perspective of tribulation events, you must go back before our time and —
- STOP thinking an American president will be the antichrist. Folks have been doing this since Kennedy. Just give it up.
- STOP thinking another peace treaty between Israel and her neighbors is necessarily what Daniel 9:27 is talking about. It says ‘confirm a/the covenant.’
- STOP thinking a potential American healthcare requirement is the mark of the beast. The mark will be global – every single individual (remote islands, jungle inhabitants, people groups we haven’t even found yet) will be required to take it. This is way beyond our surveillance capabilities, as advanced as they are.
- STOP thinking a gross misinterpretation of Isaiah 9:10 proves we’re Babylon. That passage is about idolatrous Israel desiring to build their own Tower of Babel.
START thinking like this:
The tribulation is the grand finale of a drama that encompasses the ENTIRE Bible up until its arrival except the Church Age. (Our grand finale is the Rapture!)
The Holy Spirit ceases in His role as Restrainer once the Church is removed in the Rapture. This opens the door to Satan’s deception and God’s delusion (1 Thess. 2:11) to a for-the-time-being completely God-rejecting world. So what do you think the Holy Spirit was restraining? Maybe just a few people-possessing demons like you see in the Gospels? No. Remember, this is Satan’s end game and dark spiritual activity will abound. As a result of Satan being in his final hours, he’s allowed to pull out all the stops.
Try reading Revelation WITHOUT symbolizing everything you don’t understand. For example, read Revelation 9:1-12. There will be demonic ‘locusts’ released from the Pit that will torment men for five months. Their description (vs. 7-10) was difficult for John to find words for. They are what they are. Now check out Revelation 9:13-19. This 200 million strong ‘horsemen’ army is NOT China. We don’t even have 200 million horses on earth! This demonic army was sent out by the four angels bound at the Euphrates.
You won’t need to worry about Project Bluebeam because real demonic entities will be in your face tormenting and/or killing you (if you’re an unbeliever now and you take the mark then).
More Thoughts
If you’re still with me, here’s my thoughts on the antichrist. We can see from Revelation 17:8 that he CANNOT be a U.S. president because he comes from the ABYSS. Therefore, he is someone who has lived in the past and will be resurrected. And keep going in verse 8. You see ‘he was, and is not and will come.’ Continue on in verses 9-11. Verse 11: The beast which was and is not, is himself also an eighth and is one of the seven, and he goes to destruction.
Sounds crazy but you know the Bible speaks of numerous resurrections. You know this is the culmination of Satan’s bid to dethrone God. You know it’ll be outside of our believe-without-seeing, faith-alone time frame.
In thinking back all the way to Genesis, where did ALL false religion stem from? Who did Satan use to unite the world in the past? Who’s the king of Babylon? Who is the Assyrian whom God is going to trample? Most of all, who’s the MAN who made the earth tremble and was cast out of his own tomb?
Who Could He Be?
A resurrected Nimrod is a potential candidate. Please read Isaiah 14:1-28, and do not just pull out vs.12-14 and say this is Satan. All these verses tell us facts about this ‘being,’ whoever he is:
- v.4 he is the king of Babylon
- v.6 he subdued the nations in anger with unrestrained persecution
- vs.9-11 Sheol arouses the spirits of the dead at his arrival
- vs.12-15 he thought he’d be like the Most High; very, very proud
- vs.16-17 those in hell are amazed that this MAN was now with them who had been a powerful and cruel king
16 “Those who see you will gaze at you,
They will ponder over you, saying,
‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble,
Who shook kingdoms,
17 Who made the world like a wilderness
And overthrew its cities,
Who did not allow his prisoners to go home?’
- v.19 he was cast out of his tomb
- vs.24-25 he will be overcome at Jesus’ return
24 The Lord of hosts has sworn saying, “Surely, just as I have intended so it has happened, and just as I have planned so it will stand, 25 to break Assyria in My land, and I will trample him on My mountains. Then his yoke will be removed from them and his burden removed from their shoulder.
Read it again.
Now, look again at v. 25. What yoke? What burden? The covenant Israel had just confirmed with him kicking off the Tribulation (Daniel 9:27). Also read all of Isaiah 28:14-22. Here’s pieces:
Isaiah 28:15 15 Because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we have made a pact. The overwhelming scourge will not reach us when it passes by, for we have made falsehood our refuge and we have concealed ourselves with deception.”
Isaiah 28:18 18 “Your covenant with death will be canceled, and your pact with Sheol will not stand; when the overwhelming scourge passes through,
then you become its trampling place.
Isaiah 28:21 21 For the Lord will rise up as at Mount Perazim, He will be stirred up as in the valley of Gibeon, to do His task, His unusual task, and to work His work, His extraordinary work.
Your commentaries might call the star of the morning Satan, but the Bible calls him Asshur/the Assyrian. a/k/a Antichrist. (See Peter Goodgame’s book The Second Coming of the Antichrist.)
In Closing
Finally, the specifics of how this will all play out, I don’t even claim to know. First of all, it’s possible he could be ‘introduced’ by demonic deception as an alien come to save/unite the world.
Secondly, he could be ‘introduced’ by demonic deception posing as his wife/mother Semiramis, queen of heaven, who’s been part of every false religion from that time until today. As a result, she could easily unite the world religiously. Some of her names include Ashtaroth, Ishtar, Venus, Diana and even the Roman Catholic ‘Mary.’ She’s part of the Hindu religion and Islam too. So she could say, “Here’s my son, come to save the world. Worship him.” Remember, Satan’s a counterfeiter so this would be right up his alley.
In conclusion, I’ll remind you that this is just my thoughts; I don’t claim any special insight or understanding into America’s role in the end times. I just wanted you to see a different scenario than what’s floating around the internet today.
